Service Overview
An RSJ or other structural steel beam is used to carry loads when part of a wall, chimney or existing structure is removed. The beam size, bearing details and connection method must match the structural engineer’s design; this is not work that should be judged by eye on site.
We install steelwork for internal alterations, chimney removals, extensions and refurbishment projects in houses and flats across London.
How We Can Help
We check access, delivery and lifting arrangements before the installation date, prepare the bearings and padstones, install temporary support and position the beam accurately. Where the design includes multiple steels, posts or bolted connections, we assemble them in the correct sequence and protect the finished structure as specified.
Once the beam is in place, we complete the surrounding masonry and make the area ready for fire protection, plastering and inspection.
Why Homeowners Choose Us
London properties often have tight access and very little room for handling long, heavy steel sections. Our team plans around those constraints rather than leaving them to be solved on the day, which keeps the installation safer and the programme more predictable.
